IAN YORK ALLOTMENT

Late June 2017 we took over an allotment which a couple of miles from our home in Gloucestershire.

The allotment is located on a local parish owned plot of about 30 other allotments. It is located on an island created by an oxbow of the river Severn (one of the largest uk rivers) on 3 sides with a large canal on the fourth and just a metre above the river level.
All this means the plot is less than 1/2 of a mile from water in all directions and has a completely different microclimate to our own home just 2 miles away and 30m higher.
